  1. A Success Story Begins: Gary Jackson’s Little Victory with Diet-to-Go Spells a Big Happy, Healthy Future

DTG Helps Gary Take Little steps for big results

Sometimes, it’s the little things that make our weight loss journey worthwhile.

That’s certainly true for Gary Jackson, a 62-year-old Marine Corps retiree who started Diet-to-Go in September.

At 5 feet, 10 inches, Gary’s 227-pound weight and decades of unhealthy eating was finally starting to drag him down enough that he decided it was time for a change.

The biggest issue, Gary said, was being diagnosed with sleep apnea — a potentially life-threatening disorder where a person’s breathing stops and starts while they sleep.

Gary has spent more than 5 years sleeping every night with a breathing machine, so when two weeks ago the machine’s mask didn’t fit properly on his face, he was concerned.

“The mask was leaking,” Gary said. “I ordered a new one, and it was still not working.”

It took Gary a bit to figure out exactly what the problem was — he had already lost so much weight on Diet-to-Go that the mask was two sizes too big.

“That’s my funny weight loss story,” Gary laughed. “I can tell I’ve lost weight in my face and waist.”

At the six-week mark, Gary had already dropped 8 pounds* and now weighs in at 219. (Experts say a 1-2-pound weight loss per week is ideal).

“Since I started, I’m more conscious,” Gary said. “I look at the nutrition facts. I saw Hostess Twinkies at a checkout, and I turned it over and saw it has 35 carbs. I thought, damn, I didn’t know I was eating all that.”

Gary also said he’d tried other plans here and there over the years, like Nutrisystem and calorie-counting, but Diet-to-Go is his favorite because it tastes better and has taught him about portion control.

It’s also helped him feel better physically. Gary, an avid walker, suffered from painful and stiff joints before starting on Diet-to-Go, too.

“Not eating all the salts and sugars, I can tell a difference in my joints,” he said. “I used to shuffle for the first 2 to 3 steps. I don’t do that anymore. I can tell a difference in my mobility.”

Gary says he intends to stay on Diet-to-Go as long as possible.

“If I continued my old lifestyle, I’d die a lot sooner,” Gary said. “I would recommend this to anyone.”
